last scrapper standing

the challenge:
excessive ribbon-age.
and since i am the queen of excessive ribbons, this was not a problem.
it felt really good to unleash my creativity on this, not that it was hidden or locked away somewhere. hehe.
it also felt good to use up this much stuff. this is one of the heaviest pages i have ever made. it's weighing in around the one to two pound range. i enjoyed this so much that i just may have to make a few more of these pages.

i think it is time to upgrade my lil point and shoot camera. what do you think? time to upgrade my puny 3.2 megapixel?? i think so.

hey, guess what???

ummm, nothing really. just wanted to get your attention. and i thought that caption was appropriate for what i might be saying in this photo.

it's a dark and drizzly morning. the kind of morning where you don't want to get out of your pajamas. the kind of morning that you want to lie around on the sofa and eat bon bons and watch tv all day, but sadly you can't because a tornado came through your house this weekend. and you know that you'd better get up and do something before your hubby & kiddos come home.

this weekend flew by. the kiddies had an in-service day on friday. i got my haircut. friday night we went to a surprize party for a friend starting his own architechture firm. then out to dinner. saturdays = football/cheerleading. it was a great game. we won and the wind blew 900 miles an hour. i sneaked a small nap in. we went to see our minor league hockey team. they lost. bad. lots of fights = great time. sunday was work on the outside of the house day before the cold weather sets in. we washed, caulked, and painted around windows for six hours. a couple of pooches got washed. the kiddies vacuumed the floors in the whole house, stairs included. it didn't take them six hours though. so now it's monday again. yippiee skippiee.

no wonder i'm so tired. ah well, such is life. i'm off to make a pot of coffee so that i can transform into the speedy gonzales cleaning lady. oh, and to possibly scrap a little bit. i'm trying to finish a mini for that girl child of mine. it's for her birthday. it was ten days ago. oops.

i'm the best momma in the world.

and here's why:
&hearts my baby girl turned ten this past weekend.
&hearts she had ice cream for breakfast.
&hearts she got exactly what she asked for.
&hearts i made this deliciously yummy three-layered ice cream cake with rocky road, oreo and mint chocolate chip ice cream, oreo crust on the bottom and ice cream sandwiches around the outside. yes, i'm good.



&hearts we had a party for 25 fifth graders.
&hearts i baked/cooked for five hours beforehand.
&hearts they had a scavenger hunt and then devoured the food in 30 minutes.
&hearts i felt like it was thanksgiving, with the long prep time, quick eating time.
&hearts the sky decided to open up and pour = no pinata.
&hearts rambunctious boys are hard to keep out of the rain and from catching crawdads in the pond.
&hearts i love making candy sushi. yes, i am great.



&hearts the centipede cupcakes.
&hearts huge huge hit, except for the afore mentioned bad boys using the eight dollars worth of jelly bellys to peg each other in the head.




&hearts a little dina wakley scrapjacked action.




this momma is completely worn out, but since i am the best momma ever, i'll survive.

had to use 10 pictures, all from a photo shoot of miss H. forgot the date in the upper black & white tag. oops.


this was to have paper from two manufacturers, october in the title and some lace, which i forgot to glue on. bummer!

i waited until the last possible minute to do them.
i was literally uploading at 10:00p.m.
