happy birthday to my one and only hunka hunka burning love!
that means in three weeks i'll turn another year older and wiser and more beautiful, haha!
last night he says to me "we are getting old fast." to which i replied, "maybe you are, but i'm not getting any older faster than everyone else." i sense a mid-life crisis coming on. oh wait, it's already parked in the garage. :) i think somebody needs some cake and ice cream. and definitely a funny hat.

have i mentioned how much i like spring??
i do. tons and tons.
i love waking up to the birdies singing at the top of their little lungs.
i love the deep lush 'spring green' that everything turns overnight.
i love the crazy spring thunderstorms that roll in in an instant.
i love hail. no, not really.
so i was asked by lu be a guest slammer over at
art slam and this is the challenge that i came up with. it's a mini journal based on spring. my challenge is to sew on your pages, which seemed very fitting for me, because i can't complete something without sewing in it.
1. the cover represents hail and the chilly spring mornings.
2. the music is birds singing.
3. represents the tulips blooming.
4. is plants emerging as the warm sun and wind wakes their winter slumber.
5. is the spring rain and black thunderstorm sky.
6. the last page is just more flowers.

the materials used were: card stock, cardboard, paint, ink, stamps, dry wall tape, tulle, staples, misc. tags, vintage sheet music & book pages, rub-ons, ki lace paper, plastic from packaging and machine sewing.i had a really great time getting messy with paint and ink.
i hope y'all are enjoying spring as much as i am.
have a great weekend!
xoxo
