summer officially starts tomorrow

today is the last day of 5th grade. the end of elementary school. wow. i am kinda regretting having my baby skip kindergarten, but unfortunately it's too late now. and middle school gets out tomorrow at one. bring on the summertime routine: sleeping in, swimming and lots and lots of sunshine. there will also be lots of photos with human subjects. i can only photograph flora and fauna in so many ways, although i am really enjoyed playing with all the settings.












and here's that flicky book i promised. it's a flip book of h-squared flipping around the yard doing cartwheels. fun fun.






time for a quickie/much needed manicure and then off to help out at "fun in the sun." mwah!

out with the old and in with the new

who says getting older is a bad thing? certainly not me. most people don't like having their birthday combined with some other holiday, but i do!! especially when i am spoiled ROTTEN. yep, all caps on that statement. not only did i get what i wanted, but soooo much more. hand-made kid gifts. a new camera. a new computer. and a pre-order of aerosmith's guitar hero. apparently i've been a really good girl. :)



my new rebel xti. no more crappy 3.2 blurry photos from me (although this pic is blurry, opps!) i can't wait to learn every single thing about this camera. if you have any tips/books/recommendations please let me know, thanks!

layouts galore!

i've been a busy bee thanks to a thorough cleaning of my 'office' and all the wonderful challenges from national scrapbooking day. all of these were made between saturday night and this morning.

on this first layout, i had to use orange and brown, 8x8, lots of rub-ons, lots of fowers and three patterned papers (i used four.) i used up the whole package of autumn leaves number rubs and had lots of fun making the chipboard flowers. this photo is from 2001. my kiddos would spend hours running and jumping into a huge pile of leaves. good cheap entertainment.




this one is about why i rock. it's self-explanatory. :)



for this challenge, i was to use blue and yellow paper, a butterfly and 17 brads. i gave up on the brads after using eight. photo from 2000. (sorry the music is upside down again mom!) we are looking good in our christmas sweaters/vests!!





and finally last, but not least, my scrapjack for the first of may. just a little late on this one. oops! i wanted to make a banner for this one, since i can't find the new daisy d's banner paper. picture is from 2002.



time to fold and put away those nine loads of laundry i did yesterday and enjoy the rain and maybe a nap. happy wednesday!

happy kentucky derby/ nsd!

i'm gonna be scrapping a lot today and participating in all the hourly challenges here.
and watching the kentucky derby with my cowboy hat on and sipping on a mint julep.
and taking a nap somewhere in between. (another late night w/ the neighbors playing rockband and bowling on the wii.)

we went and saw this movie yesterday. it didn't have the greatest special effects, but was pretty good.
...and i finally finished my layouts/projects for story on my life...

i can't stop thinking up these silly lines that go along with the new sassafras lass paper. i am cursed with a overly creative mind that never turns off. not really such a bad thing i guess. i've finished two of my layouts for the may story kit which is on sale now. check it out if you get the chance. more to follow tomorrow. lots going on for me today. happy may day!
